Rationale for Library Goals

	Literacy and a love of reading is foundational to students' success in all academic areas.
	Instruction in the library should complement classroom instruction and students should be encouraged to check out books that support the topics being studied in the regular classroom.
	Close collaboration is needed between the librarian and classroom teachers.
	The library collection represents a significant investment that must be protected.

Library Goals

	Continue to provide a librarian.
	Continue to update collections.
	Create and maintain a prioritized list of needs for the library
	Maintain the automated library system.
	Define how library activities will be incorporated into the core curriculum when mapping curriculum.

 

 

 

 

 

Mrs. Dixon is a librarian here at Loon Lake Elementary School. She became a teacher about 22 years ago. Her hometown is Spokane, but she has lived in Loon Lake for about 28 years! She has 2 kids and 1 granddaughter. Her favorite quote is “life is a gift” and “ speak kind and kindness will echo back”

She became a teacher here at Loon Lake because of course she loves books!   She doesn’t have one favorite book, she loves all books. She loves a good mystery or romance novel.  She hasn’t gone to college but is very smart (of course)! She can tell very well when some one is not listening to her (Bye their eye contact).
