UPDATE FOR MARCH 17, 2020

posted Mar 20, 2020, 11:43 AM by Brad VanDyne

Today's message will be brief, and it will focus on two things.

First, we have created a survey to give us a better idea of what your needs are during this time.  You can find this survey on our website.  If you go to www.loonlakeschool.org , you will see a link right there on the top of the page.  If you have given us your email address, I will send the link to you via email as well.   Please respond to this survey as soon as you possibly can.

And secondly, I want to share with you our plan for feeding hungry kids.  This plan is subject to change, but I want to let you know what we are thinking.  Our goal is that, beginning on Monday, March 23rd, there will be two options available to you to receive meals for your kids.  The first option will be having the bus deliver meals to your home address.  Our buses would leave Loon Lake Elementary at 9:00 each morning and run their normal afternoon routes.  They would deliver a sack containing that day’s lunch and the next day’s breakfast, to each child in your house between the ages of 0 and 18.  It doesn’t matter what school your child attends.  They can receive these meals.

The second option for you would be to come to Loon Lake Elementary between 9 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. each day to pick up these same lunch and breakfast sacks.

The survey I mentioned earlier will help us know how many of you are interested in the delivery option and how many would be interested in the pick-up option.

A few more thoughts on this.  First, based on regulations, children need to be present at the delivery or pick-up locations in order to receive the food.   Second, your child’s bus driver will be calling you later this week to determine if food delivery is something you are needing, and to help give you an idea of what time they would delivering to you.  And third, we would deliver every day except for spring break, which is April 6th through 10th

I think that’s it for today.  If you need anything at all, please let us know.

Take good care -

Brad
